Bases del Concurso

El Excelentísimo Ayuntamiento de Elda, 
en colaboración con la Asociación
de Ópera y Conciertos (ADOC) de Elda, 
convocan el II Concurso Internacional de Canto “Ciudad de Elda”. 
El Concurso, que cuenta con
la dirección artística de Ana María
Sánchez, mantiene el propósito de
promocionar a los nuevos valores de
la lírica y contribuir en su lanzamiento
artístico, y se regirá por las bases que
se describen a continuación:

1.- El II Concurso Internacional
de Canto “Ciudad de Elda” que se
celebrará en Elda entre los días 18
y 21 de Septiembre de 2013 está
abierto a la participación de cantantes
de cualquier nacionalidad, con
una edad comprendida entre los 20
y los 33 años, cumplidos en 2013.

2.- La inscripción en el concurso implica,
por parte de los cantantes, la
aceptación de estas bases, de las
disposiciones referentes a su actuación
y de las decisiones del jurado,
que serán inapelables. El participante
que no se atuviere a estas normas
y disposiciones podrá ser eliminado
del concurso.

3.- Los concursantes que hayan obtenido
un primer o segundo premio en
otros concursos nacionales o internacionales
de Canto, durante el año
2013, quedarán dispensados de la
prueba eliminatoria, siempre que lo
soliciten expresamente y presenten
un documento oficial que acredite su
calidad de premiados.

4.- El día 18 de Septiembre de
2013 a las 10:00 h, en el Auditorio
de ADOC “José Amat Jover”, sito en
la calle Paquito Vera, nº 7 de Elda, se
celebrará un sorteo único, válido para
todas las pruebas, que establecerá el
orden de ensayos y actuaciones, así
como el pianista que será asignado
a cada concursante. El resultado de
este sorteo se colocará en el tablón
de anuncios de ADOC, donde los
concursantes podrán consultar su
orden en la lista.

5.- Todas las fases del concurso
se realizarán con acompañamiento
de piano. La organización pondrá a
disposición de los participantes dos
pianistas oficiales y cada concursante
tendrá derecho a un ensayo antes
de cada prueba. Los concursantes
que así lo deseen podrán aportar su
propio pianista, comunicándolo a la
organización en el momento de la
inscripción.

6.- Inscripción. La inscripción se realizará
del siguiente modo:
- Se abrirá un plazo de preinscripción
desde el momento de la publicación
de estas bases hasta el 2
de Septiembre de 2013. No se
aceptará ninguna preinscripción
que llegue al comité organizador
después de la fecha establecida.
- Una vez recibida su preinscripción,
el comité organizador enviará a
cada concursante un impreso de
autoliquidación para que pueda
abonar los derechos de inscripción.
- Realizado el ingreso del importe de
la inscripción, se remitirá por mail
el impreso de autoliquidación debidamente
cumplimentado y sellado
por el banco, a concursocantoelda2013@
gmail.com , antes del 10 de
Septiembre.

7.- El precio de los derechos de inscripción
es de 60 €.

8.- Para realizar la preinscripción, el
concursante deberá enviar por mail,
antes del 2 de Septiembre, los siguientes
documentos:
a) Boletín de inscripción debidamente
cumplimentado a máquina o con
letra de imprenta, con los datos
del participante y el programa definitivo,
que no podrá modificarse
bajo ninguna circunstancia.
b) Fotocopia del D.N.I. o pasaporte.
c) Breve currículum vitae personal y
artístico con lugar de residencia
actual, teléfono, y correo electrónico.
d) Dos fotografías recientes, tamaño
carnet, identificadas por la parte
de atrás con el nombre y apellido
del concursante.
e) Documento oficial que acredite
su condición de premiado, en
el caso de los participantes que
hayan sido galardonados con un
primer o segundo premio en otros
concursos durante el año 2013,
y que accedan directamente a la
prueba semifinal.

9.- Cualquier duda referente a la
preinscripción o inscripción podrá
consultarse dirigiéndose al teléfono
de la Secretaría del Concurso:
al móvil 660 475 625, o a la dirección
de correo electrónico del concurso.

10.- Cada concursante deberá presentar
un programa de seis obras.
a) Concursantes que optan a los
premios de ópera: seis arias de
ópera en, al menos, tres idiomas
diferentes.
b) Concursantes que optan, además
al premio de zarzuela: tres arias
de ópera en, al menos tres idiomas
diferentes –entre las que no
se considera el español- y tres
romanzas de zarzuela, Para estos
concursantes, la interpretación de
la zarzuela será obligatoria en la
fase semifinal y en la final.

11.- Las obras se cantarán en su
idioma original y de memoria. No se
admiten los programas monolingües.
El concursante no podrá modificar
el programa presentado durante el
desarrollo del concurso.
12.- No se admiten las transposiciones
de tonalidad.

13.- Las arias de ópera que consten
también de recitativo y cabaletta,
deberán interpretarse íntegramente,
salvo indicación expresa del jurado.
14.- La Organización del Concurso
se reserva el derecho de rechazar
los programas que juzgue carentes
de un nivel musical suficiente.
15.- El Jurado, cuyas decisiones serán
inapelables, estará presidido por
Dña. Ana María Sánchez y formado
por cinco personalidades del mundo
del Canto, entre los que habrá
cantantes de prestigio internacional,
representantes de teatros, promotores
de espectáculos y agentes artísticos.
Cualquier miembro del Jurado
que haya sido, o sea profesor de
un concursante, no podrá participar
en ninguna de las deliberaciones y
votaciones correspondientes a este
participante.

16.- El jurado es el único órgano
capacitado para otorgar los premios
oficiales, los premios especiales y las
bolsas de estudio contemplados en
estas bases. Si así lo considerase, no
estará obligado a conceder todos los
premios del concurso, pudiendo declarar
desiertos los que estime convenientes.
El Jurado tendrá la facultad
de decidir sobre cualquier punto no
previsto en estas bases.

17.- Durante la fase eliminatoria, el
jurado tendrá derecho, si procede, a
poner fin a la actuación del concursante
o a interrumpirla.

18.- Todas las audiciones serán públicas.
El público deberá atender
a las instrucciones comunicadas al
principio de cada audición.

19.- Los concursantes que accedan
a la fase semifinal y/o final, deberán
presentarse ante el público con indumentaria
de concierto.

20.- Los concursantes y acompañantes
recibirán una tarjeta de participación
que les proporcionará libre acceso
a todos los actos del concurso.
Para los conciertos de las pruebas
semifinal y final, cada concursante
tendrá derecho a dos invitaciones.

21.- Las pruebas serán retransmitidas
y grabadas por radio o televisión.
Los concursantes aceptarán la cesión
de los derechos de reproducción audiovisual
y comunicación pública que
pudiera derivarse de su participación
en el concurso. En ambos casos, esta
cesión se hará por el plazo de un
año desde la fecha inicial de la celebración
del concurso. Así mismo,
una vez acabado el concurso, cada
concursante que lo requiera, recibirá
la grabación de su actuación.

22.- Cualquier incidencia que se produzca
en el desarrollo del concurso
será resuelta por el jurado y el comité
organizador.

23.- La Concejalía de Cultura elevará
a Junta de Gobierno la propuesta de
resolución que contendrá una relación
de los premiados para los que se
propone los premios correspondientes
y su cuantía.


Contest Conditions


The Elda City Council in collaboration

with “Asociación de Ópera y Conciertos”

(ADOC) of Elda, are organizing
“The Second International Singing
Contest “City of Elda”. The contest
will have Ana Maria Sanchez´s expert
advice and aims at promoting young
operatic stars by contributing to their
artistic acknowledgement. Those who
are interested will have to comply with
the following regulations:


1. The Second International Singing

Contest will be held from September

18th to September 21st 2013. It will
be open to participants of any nationality
between the ages of twenty and
thirty three.


2. Enrollment implies acceptance of

entry conditions and compliance with

the jury´s regulations. There will be
no right of appeal against the jury´s
verdict. Participants failing to comply
with these regulations will not be
allowed to take part in the contest.


3. Those participants having obtained

first or second prizes in other national

or international contests in the
year 2013 will not have to take part
in the preliminary qualifying sessions
as long as they state it clearly and

produce official accreditation of the

prizes obtained.


4. The order of appearance at rehearsals

and performances will be established

by means of a draw, which will
also determine a specific pianist for
each contestant. The draw will be held
on September 18th 2013 at 10:00
hours at Auditorium ADOC “José Amat
Jover”, 7 Paquito Vera Street, Elda.
All contestants will have to be either
present or legally represented at the
draw, the results of which will be published
on the notice board of ADOC
where entrants will be able to check
their position in the list.


5. Participants will be accompanied

on the piano at the different stages of

the competition. The contest Committee
will provide participants with two
official pianists. Each participant will
be entitled to one rehearsal session
before each test or audition. Those
wishing to bring their own pianists are
also welcome as long as they state it
clearly when registering.


6. Registration will be carried out as

follows:

There will be a pre-registration period
that will start the moment these regulations
have officially been published
up to September 2nd 2013. Those
pre-registration forms exceeding the
deadline will not be accepted.
Once pre-registration forms have

been received, the organizing committee

will send each contestant a

self-settlement form so that they can
pay their registration fees.
After pre-registration fees have been
paid, a self-settlement form duly
completed and stamped by the bank
will be sent by e-mail to concursocantoelda2013@
gmail.com, before September
10th.

7. Registration fee is 60 €.


8. In order to legalize their registrations,

all participants will have to send

by mail the following documents before
September 2 nd 2013:
a) Registration form duly completed
in block capitals with all the
participant´s data, including final
program. No modifications to the
final program will be accepted.
(Annex 1)
b) Passport or I.D. card photocopy
and a Revenue Office certificate
proving, when relevant, tax residence
in Spain.
c) Brief CV including personal and
artistic details. Telephone number,
address, fax number or e-mail address
should also be included.
d) Two recent passport-sized photographs
with the participant´s name
and surname written on the back.

e) Official proof, when relevant, of having

received previous awards, either

a first or a second prize in other contests
during the year 2013, which will
allow direct access to the semifinal
audition.

9. For any further questions or doubts

related to the pre-registration procedure

participants should get in touch

10. Each participant must send a

program with six musical works.

a) Participants contending for the
opera awards: six opera arias in
at least three different languages.
b) Participants who will additionally
compete for the “Zarzuela” award
(Spanish operetta): three opera
arias in at least three different
languages – among which Spanish
will not be included – and
three “Zarzuela romanzas”. For
those contestants performance of
the “Zarzuela” piece will be compulsory
both in the semifinal and
the final stages.


11. The musical works will be performed

in their original languages and by

heart. Monolingual programs are not
allowed. Programs cannot be modified
or altered once the contest has started.


12. Tonality transpositions are not

admitted.


13. Those opera arias containing recitative

and cabaletta should be performed

in their entirety, unless the
jury indicates otherwise.


14. The Organization Committee

holds the right to reject those programs

below the required level.


15. The Jury, whose decisions will

be non-appealable, will be presided

over by Ms. Ana María Sánchez, and
will be comprised of figures from
the world of operatic singing, such
as world-acclaimed opera singers,
theatrical agents, show producers
and artists´ agents. If any member
of the Jury is or has been teacher
to a contestant, he/she will have to
refrain from taking part in verdict considerations
or voting as far as that
contestant is concerned.


16. It is the Jury´s duty to award

the official prizes, special ones and

scholarships as stated in these regulations.
It is the Jury’s right to
decide whether all the prizes should
be awarded or otherwise declared
deserted when deemed appropriate.
The Jury reserves the right to decideon any matter not included in the
present regulations.


17. In the qualifying sessions the Jury

may stop or interrupt any performance

if they consider it appropriate to
do so.


18. The general public will be allowed

in the Auditions, but they will have

to follow and fulfill the instructions
given before the audition.


19. Those participants who proceed

on to semifinal and final sessions

will do it duly dressed in concert
costume.


20. Contestants and those accompanying

them will receive a participation

card that will enable them into
any event at the contest. For the final
and semifinal concerts each contestant
is entitled to two invitations.


21. The sessions will be broadcast

and recorded on radio or television.

Contestants will accept the assignment
of copyright and public communication
audiovisual media that could
result from their participation in the
contest. Likewise, once the competition
has finished, each contestant
that may require it will receive the
recording of his/her performance to
use at his/her own convenience.


22. Any incident that may occur during

the contest will be solved by the

Jury and the Organizing Committee.


23.The Culture Department of the Local

Council will submit a motion for

a resolution to the Municipal Governing
Board which will contain a list of
the winners with their corresponding
awards and their money amounts.

PREMIOS OFICIALES

Los premios, en categoría única, serán
los siguientes:
1er. PREMIO............................. 5.000 €
2º PREMIO................................ 3.000 €
3er. PREMIO............................. 1.500 €
Premio de Zarzuela................... 1.000 €
Premio del Público.................... 1.000 €

2 Bolsas de estudio de 500 €.. 

A estos premios se les aplicarán las
retenciones que estipule la normativa
vigente y serán abonados mediante
transferencia bancaria.

Los concursantes premiados recibirán
un diploma que acredite su condición
de ganadores.

Los concursantes que accedan a la
fase final y no obtengan alguno de
los premios mencionados, recibirán
un diploma que acredite su condición
de finalistas del concurso.


PREMIOS ESPECIALES

Los concursantes que participen en
la prueba final, optarán también a
los premios especiales consistentes
en la contratación, para ofrecer un
concierto en la temporada 2013-
2014, por alguna de las siguientes
entidades:
- Palau de la Música de Valencia.
Concierto incluido en su programación
de la Sala Rodrigo. Dotado con1.800 €.

- Instituto Bernabéu. Dotado con1.800 €.

- Proalpe S.L. Dotado con 1.800 €

- ADOC Elda. Dotado con 1.500 €

- XXXI Semana Internacional de Música
de Cámara. Ayuntamiento de
Monserrat (Valencia). Dotado con1.500 €

Estos conciertos serán adjudicados
por las entidades colaboradoras
arriba citadas entre los finalistas del
Concurso. Su importe se abonará a
los ganadores, por las respectivas
entidades colaboradoras, una vez
concluido el concierto. Los premios
pueden ser compartidos y los premiados
se comprometen a aportar, por
su cuenta, al pianista de su elección.
En estos conciertos se interpretará,
como mínimo, un repertorio de aproximadamente
una hora de música.


ORGANIZACIÓN, PROGRAMA Y HORARIO DE LAS PRUEBAS

El concurso, comenzará con el sorteo para establecer el orden de actuación y la asignación de pianista a cada concursante.
El sorteo tendrá lugar el día 18 de Septiembre de 2013, a las 10:00h. en el Auditorio de ADOC “José Amat  Jover”. C/ Paquito Vera, nº 7 - Elda.
   En este momento, los concursantes entregarán a los pianistas que les han sido asignados las copias legibles de las obras que interpretarán.    Inmediatamente después de la realización del sorteo, se organizarán, los horarios de ensayos y actuaciones.
El orden será el mismo para las tres fases del concurso.
Los ensayos y las actuaciones del Concurso se desarrollarán del siguiente modo:

ENSAYOS PRUEBASPRELIMINARES:

Día 18 de Septiembre de 2013.

Una vez finalizadas las pruebas y tras

la deliberación del jurado del día 19,

se publicará en la sede oficial del
Concurso -el Auditorio de ADOC-, la
lista de los concursantes que pasarán
a la prueba Semifinal.

Horario: de 10:00 a 14:00.

Una vez finalizada la prueba y tras
la deliberación del jurado, se publicará
en la sede oficial del Concurso
- el Auditorio de ADOC -, la lista de
los concursantes que pasarán a la
prueba final.

ENSAYOS PRUEBA FINAL:

Día 21 de Septiembre de 2013.

Horario: de 12:00 a 14:00.

Lugar: Teatro Castelar.

PRUEBA FINAL:

Horario: a las 19:00 horas y con asistencia
de público.
Lugar: Teatro Castelar.
Una vez finalizada la prueba y tras la
deliberación del jurado, se comunicarán
los nombres de los ganadores y

se procederá a la entrega de premios.

La organización se reserva el derecho

de alterar estos horarios, comunicándolo
a los participantes con la
debida antelación.
Se asignarán camerinos, aulas o estancias
para que los concursantes puedan
vocalizar antes de las pruebas. Queda
totalmente prohibido vocalizar, a partir
del inicio de cualquiera de las pruebas,
fuera de los lugares indicados.
Cada concursante interpretará las siguientes
obras:

PRUEBA PRELIMINAR:



Una obra elegida por el mismo, cuya

duración no supere los 6 minutos.
Los concursantes señalarán claramente,
en el boletín de inscripción,
el título de la obra elegida para interpretar
en la fase eliminatoria.

PRUEBA SEMIFINAL:



Dos obras, una elegida por el jurado

y otra por el concursante. En el
caso de los participantes que optan al
Premio de Zarzuela, una de las obras
será obligatoriamente una romanza.


PRUEBA FINAL:



Dos obras elegidas por el jurado. En

el caso de los participantes que optan
al Premio de Zarzuela, una de
las obras será obligatoriamente una
romanza.

Those participants taking part in the
final round can also contend for the
special awards which consist of a
contract for a concert in the 2013-
2014 musical season with one of the
following institutions.

The concert will be included in their

- XXXI Semana Internacional de
Música de Cámara. Ayuntamiento

These concerts will be allotted among
the contest finalists by the sponsoring
institutions, which will pay the winners
the amount of the prizes once
the concert is over. The awards can
be shared, and those contestants that
have obtained a prize must undertake
to bring their own pianist. A repertoire
of at least one hour will be performed
in these concerts.
 
  
ORGANIZATION, PROGRAM
AND TIMETABLE

The contest will begin with the draw
that is to establish the order of appearance
and the pianist assignation
to each contestant. The draw will
be held on September 18th 2013
at 10.00 hours. Venue: Auditorium
ADOC “José Amat Jover” 7, Paquito
Vera St., Elda. At that time entrants
will hand their pianists legible copies
of the pieces they intend to perform.
Right after the draw has taken place
and once each contestant has been
assigned a pianist, rehearsals and
performances will be organized according
to the order established by
the draw. The order will be the same
for the three stages of the contest.

proceed as follows:

after the jury´s deliberation the list of
contestants going to the final round
will be published at Auditorium ADOC

FINAL ROUND REHEARSALS

September 21st 2013
Time: from 12.00 to 14.00 hours.
Venue: Teatro Castelar.
 
FINAL ROUND

September 21st 2013
Time: 19:00 pm. Audience will be
allowed into the Auditorium.
Venue: Official venue of the contest:
Teatro Castelar.
 
The jury having considered their verdicts,
the selected contestants will
receive their prizes.
 
The Committee holds the right to alter
the timetable, in which case sufficient
notice will be given.
All contestants will be provided with adequate rooms so that they can do vocal warm-up exercises and test their voices before the sessions. In order to avoid disturbance to other contestants when performing, it will be completely forbidden to practise singing exercises in any other places apart from those assigned for this purpose.
Each participant will sing the following
works:

QUALIFYING ROUND
A piece chosen by the participant,
the duration of which will not exceed
the limit of 6 minutes. When registering
for the contest, the participants
will clearly indicate -in the registration
form- the title of the musical work to
be performed in the qualifying session.


SEMIFINAL ROUND
Two musical works, one chosen by
the Jury and the other chosen by the
participant.
For those wishing to compete for the
Zarzuela prize, one of the works will
have to be a “romanza”.


FINAL ROUND

Two musical works chosen by the Jury.
For those wishing to compete for the
Zarzuela prize, one of the musical
works will have to be a romanza.

IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISAGREEMENT IN
